A while after former Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli announced stepping down as India’s Test skipper, his wife and actor Anushka Sharma took to social media and penned a heartfelt note for him.

In the long post, she wrote how proud she was of his growth and how much their little daughter Vamika can learn from her dad.

It felt as if the wife bared her heart and expressed her love and affection towards her husband, giving support and strength to him at such an emotional point in life.
While scores of people were moved by her post, a journalist named Rohan Dua seemed irked. He rather questioned Anushka’s intention of writing the letter to her husband on her personal account.
Comparing her to the wives of other acclaimed cricketers like Sehwag, Ganguly, Sachin, Dhoni, Dua alleged that Anushka was chasing glory by expressing how she felt about her husband.
Take a look at his tweets:
Well, for obvious reasons, his tweet wasn’t accepted well by people online and he was trolled for criticizing a wife’s heartfelt letter to her husband.
Man, find someone to love you. I promise two other people loving each other won’t bother you that much.

Why does this bother you?You have a problem with Kohli so you tweet about it;rightfully so, because it’s your freedom. His wife has similarly & doesn’t need to take lessons from others.Kohli,Champion cricketer&Captain;his achievements speak for himself.Opposition teams feared him.

Such is the patriarchal mindset in society that people can’t digest a lady publicly sharing her emotions for her husband on a critical juncture of his life. Mind you she is @AnushkaSharma who is inspiration to many and completes @imVkohli. https://t.co/t6hlKrDtNz

Was just trying to recall the amount of prevalence of social media in the Ganguly-Sachin-VVS era. Moreover, being Virat's wife,it's the personal discretion of Anushka as to whether she wants to express her thoughts about his captaincy to her spouse in private or on a public forum. https://t.co/3iMQ3ezYCu

Only in India will someone criticise you for expressing love for your spouse in public.

Rohan doesn't quite digest the fact that a wife can be proud and happy of her husband's achievement. This is sad. Don't be like Rohan.🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️ https://t.co/WCF2taVw4p

And since Dua compared her to other cricketer’s wives, people reminded him that MS Dhoni’s wife Sakshi did write an emotional piece on his retirement.

Not to forget the post that Rahul Dravid’s wife, Vijeta wrote about her perfectionist husband that went viral online.
Don’t know why he took a wife’s affectionate letter to her husband so personally. It’s good to see love in the air na?
