For a long time now, Indian cinema has been largely associated with Bollywood. But as that industry continues to fall into the same stereotypical plots from the 80’s, everyone’s focus has shifted to other film industries in India. And that has helped India break through some major glass ceilings, with the biggest example being the ‘Baahubali’ duology. Now, another magnum opus (this time from Karnataka) is on the way that’s going to scorch the screens this Christmas.
The recent trailer that’s making the desi part of the internet go crazy is ‘K.G.F’. And for good reason, because it’s packed to the brim with action and emotion. It’s directed by Prashanth Neel and stars Rocking Star Yash and Srinidhi Shetty.
The film follows the story of Rocky and is set in the 70’s and the early 80’s, and his rise to power in Mumbai. However, it looks like a major section of the story will be set in the Kolar Gold fields, where Yash will deal with the goons who run that place. And don’t worry, he’s not going to sit and have a chat with them over dinner. He’s going to kick, punch and hack them in slow motion, until they become one with the dust beneath their feet. Just thinking about that gave me an adrenaline rush.
Netizens who’ve seen the trailer were excited about it and can’t wait to watch ‘K.G.F’ in the theatre.

2. Change is always good.
#KGF, following the #Baahubali series, is slowly changing the cinematic landscape of india, slowly erasing the boundaries that existed between the different industries. It's a long shot but if this movement extends to our society as well….🙏 #KGFTrailer pic.twitter.com/K0qoFq9pOq

7. Expectations are high.
This is a good start for Sandalwood. Hope regional movies get Pan India recognition, of course they will do well if public accepts it. Firstly, they need the push like this by releasing in many languages. Gives a beast kinda image thru trailer. #KGFTrailer . Expectations. https://t.co/KVtwg1kqck

From a technical point of view, the movie looks absolutely spectacular in the trailer itself. So, major thumbs to cinematographer Bhuvan Gowda, music director Ravi Basrur and art director Shivakumar. Let’s hope that the story of Rocky compliments that pulls at our heartstrings and make us look forward to its sequel. Oh you didn’t know? Yes, ‘K.G.F’ is just Chapter 1 of the puzzle that Prashanth Neel is building.
