Thieves Dress As Cops To Loot Jewellery Store In Bhor, Fire Recklessly As They Flee

Stories of thievery involving peculiar tricks have come about often. For instance, an Australian thief stole a Versace necklace with a fishing rod or a Mumbai robber looting another robber’s home after the latter tested positive for coronavirus.

As per a report in The Indian Express, a gang of five unidentified men arrived at Balaji Jewellers in Pune’s Kapurhol village at around 4:30 PM on August 6, 2020. Some of them were wearing police uniforms and face masks as well. They proceeded to enter the store acting as if they are conducting an investigation for a crime, bringing a fake suspect along as well.

AsiaNet reports that they soon started looting gold ornaments at gunpoint and in broad daylight. While one of the staff members did manage to grab hold of one of the accused, the thief opened fire from a pistol. None of the staff was injured but all the thieves did escape from the scene. The Pune Rural Police team soon rushed to the crime scene and they checked the CCTV footage for clues.
