In September 2018, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor took a break from work to fly to the US for medical treatment. After 8 months of battling cancer, he announced that he was in remission much to the relief of his multitude of fans.
According to NDTV, when the 67-year-old actor was in the capital for a shoot, reports of him getting hospitalized over the weekend surfaced online. There was speculation that his cancer had relapsed.
The rumours further gained fuel when the family was conspicuous by their absence at Armaan Jain’s pre-wedding festivities and Ranbir Kapoor flew to Delhi on Saturday, reports Hindustan Times.
Mumbai Mirror quoted the superstar clarifying, “I have had an infection which I am getting treated. Nothing dramatic. Pollution got me I guess.”
He also shared two tweets for his fans dispelling the conjecture around his health.
Dear family, friends, foes and followers. I have been overwhelmed by all your concern about my health.Thank you. I have been filming in Delhi past 18 days and because of the Pollution and my low count of neutrophils, I caught an infection whereby I had to be hospitalized. (1)…..

I was running a slight fever and on investigation,Dr.s found a patch which could have lead to pneumonia, was detected and is being cured. People seem to have assumed a lot different. I put to rest all those stories and look forward to entertain and love you. I am now in Mumbai.

#AirPollution spares no one Rishi ji, happy to hear that you are feeling better. Our very own Mumbai is not too far from Delhi as far as pollution is concerned. 2 weeks is all it took for a pair of faux lungs installed at Bandra signal to turn black.
