Team India rang in the new year in Australia ahead of the third test match in Sydney. And a desi cricket fan named Navaldeep Singh spotted Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Navdeep Saini and Prithvi Shaw when he was dining with his wife at a Melbourne restaurant called βSecret Kitchenβ.
According to Hindustan Times, he ordered more so he could stay at the restaurant and watch his favourite players and also footed their food bill. In a series of tweets, he also said that the Men in Blue hugged him, posed for a photo and thanked his wife when they found out about his sweet gesture.

However, The Sydney Morning Herald reports that according to Cricket Australiaβs biosecurity protocols, players are required to be seated outdoors while dining at a restaurant. Furthermore, a Valentino shopping bag seen in the video points to another breach as they are allowed to shop only via click and collect method. According to Times Now News, the BCCI is reportedly investigating the video and the possible bio-bubble breach.
Such an irresponsible act from #RishabhPant. He's breached bio-secure bubble after he hugged a Indian fan at restaurant in Australia. Today's cricketers think that they're above rules and can get away with anything. I hope @CricketAus @BCCI suspends him from next 2 test matches. https://t.co/fJSVIUbCq6
