After desi women discussed ‘unfair’ rules and harassment they faced during their school days, there were many other odd rules that still fail to make sense to me. One of them was the way some of the fancy, colorful books were kept locked in the shelves of the library, and how we were never allowed to read or issue them. The same went for the instruments locked up in the music room!
An Indian Reddit user asked people to share their experiences of bizarre school rules they encountered during their time:
Were there any crazy/ridiculous rules in the school you went to? from india
The responses of these Redditors are sure to give you a 90’s flashback. Or at least a pre-covid era flashback before online teaching became the norm.
1. Shoes not allowed in computer labs
2. Separate seating rows for boys and girls
3. Class passes to prevent bunking
4. Oiling your hair
5. Separate notebooks for giving tests
6. Kneeling down in the corridor as punishment
7. No entry in the ground during lunch break
8. Not being allowed to use certain parts of the school property
9. Food restrictions
10. And many more…
Were any of these enforced in your school as well? Which other odd school rules were you made to follow as students? Tell us!
