Here’s what happened
Pranab Mukherjee has given his assent to the Maharashtra Animal Preservation (Amendment) Bill which essentially means one thing: Beef is now banned in Maharashrta.
You could get upto 5 years of jail & Rs. 10,000 fine if caught possessing or selling it. Yeah, I know. It’s BS, right. (BS=Bullshit, not Beef Steak)
