The current crop of celebrities is very close knit. They have bigger issues to worry about than petty rivalries and competition. At a recent press conference at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, Richa Chadha jumped to Fawad Khan’s rescue when he was asked a stereotyping question.
Fawad Khan was asked to comment on the fact that he comes from a country with different cultures and that since he’s working in Bollywood, he’s representing a different culture.
The journalist’s question was as follows:
Richa Chadha cut in and answered the question for Fawad.
“I think we should avoid stereotyping in questions or creating some kind of contradiction here because the whole intent and especially art does really have any borders.”
She said that because of the British colonisation, India and Pakistan were seperated, and as a reason of the same, stereotyping the two cultures is not fair.
This was Richa’s entire statement.
Fawad also answered the question and said that since television is more accessible to people in Pakistan, they will always have those kinds of sensibilities. Portrayal of various things are way different on television as opposed to cinema, and to bring that kind of cinema to Pakistan will require a little curve for them.

That was a great response from Richa and it shows the multicultural diversity in the industry, and the respect our celebs have for the same.
