Sonam Kapoor Calls Out Instagram’s Inaction On Death Threats Received By Rhea

Celebrities receiving negative and hateful comments on social media is unfortunately quite common. Which is why platforms have the option to report users indulging in such activities.

However, Sonam Kapoor recently questioned Instagram when their team didn’t consider a death threat received by sister Rhea as a violation.

Sonam posted Instagram’s reply by saying, “Instagram doesn’t think death threats is a violation or their India team can’t read Hindi.”

According to Hindustan Times, Rhea shared the message in question saying, “Just charming. Of course, I am happy to block unnecessarily hateful people without giving it a thought but what pisses me off is that a death threat isn’t against your ‘community guideline’ Instagram?”

Earlier, actress Kriti Sanon had also spoken up about social media toxicity saying that hateful comments affect people subconsciously. While constructive criticism is always welcome, unnecessary negative comments need to stop.

We hope that platforms are stricter in deciding what counts as a violation.
