Previously actor Rhea Chakraborty had revealed names of several Bollywood celebrities involved in drug use during the investigation of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise. Now, in her second bail request, Rhea, who has been in judicial custody at Byculla Jail, has alleged that late actor Sushant Singh Rajput “took advantage of those closest to him to sustain his drug habit,” reports TOI. Rhea was arrested for procuring drugs for the late actor, whom she was dating at the time of his demise.
According to NDTV, Rhea said in her plea, “Sushant Singh Rajput was the only consumer of drugs and that he was directing his staff members to procure his drugs”. She added, “If the late actor were alive today, he would have been charged for the consumption of small quantities, which is a bailable offense having punishment of a term of imprisonment up to one year.”
She even argued that while the “consumer of drugs” would receive a maximum punishment of up to one year jail, she on the other hand would be subjected to up to 20 years in jail even though she just paid for the drugs on a few occasions.
The ‘Half Girlfriend’ actor alleged that Sushant, “used her, her brother Showik and members of his household staff to facilitate his own drug habit while ensuring that he did not leave a paper trail of his own in the form of any electronic evidence whatsoever”. She further said, “It is unfortunate that Sushant Singh Rajput took advantage of those closest to him to sustain his drug habit and thought it fit to expose them to the perils that would entail”.
The late actor had reportedly asked his cook, Neeraj, to prepare joints and keep them in a box in his bedroom just three days before his death. Rhea in her bail plea said that the fact that the box was found empty after his demise implies that the late actor was the consumer of drugs, reports HT. Her bail plea read,
“It is clear from the evidence collected by investigative agencies that it was only late Sushant Singh Rajput who was the consumer of drugs and who was in the habit of using those around him to facilitate his drug habit.”
In her 47-page petition, Rhea also said that Sushant’s ties with his family were strained and she even alleged that his sisters had left him at the “peak of his depression”. She also stated that Sushant was “in the regular habit of smoking cigarettes with ganja” way before they met, a habit he reportedly picked up during the shoot of his movie ‘Kedarnath’.
