Many of us have transitioned to working from home after offices were shut due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which included hilarious online work calls and jugaadu work desks. But after the coronavirus vaccine has started to roll out in our country, many employers have started to call their workers back to offices after almost 1 year of WFH. Yes, that means bidding farewell to working from our beds, and having relaxing, lazy mornings as there is no rush to get up, dress up, and travel long distances to check in at work.
A video of an unhappy female employee named Harjas Sethi, hilariously ranting about returning to office, has been doing the rounds on social media. After being asked about how safe she feels about coming back to the office, she exclaims, “Meri rooh kaanp gayi hai.” Check it out:
She begins by saying, “Kaafi dil dehlaane vali ghatna hui hai mere sath. Abhi tin pehle office se ek email aaya with the subject line – Return to work. Toh kya matlab hua iska? Matlab ab razai se nikalkar, nahakar, taiyaar hokar office jaana padega. Logon ki shakalein dekhni padengi.”
She further asks the employer, “Karna hi kyun hai? Sabki zindagiyaan thik chal rahi hain. Tumhaar revenue badh raha hai. Tumhara transport aur facility ka paisa bach raha hai. Kyun bechare gareeb ke pet pe laat maar rahe ho.” She adds that she has packed up her jeans, trousers, bras, and “pyjamon mein zindagi jeene ki aadat ho gayi hai mujhe.”
“To ab ho na paayega,” she says and I couldn’t agree more. Here are some of the reactions people had to her video:
