Retired IAF Soldier Donates Entire Life’s Savings Of ₹1.08 Crore To The Defence Ministry

Just how there is a yin to every yang, with every wrongdoing that takes the society backwards there is always someone who pushes the nation one step forward with their contributions. A retired IAF soldier recently made headlines for his kindhearted gesture towards the Defence Ministry.

The 74-year-old former IAF airman, CBR Prasad, recently donated his entire life’s savings of Rs. 1.08 crore to the Ministry of Defence. According to sources, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday and handed over the cheque to him. Singh was elated that a sepoy had donated such a huge sum for the benefit of the defence forces.

CBR Prasad had served the IAF for a period of 9 years, after which he quit to join the Indian Railways. However, he failed to land himself a job there and therefore started a poultry farm of his own which fortunately did well.

He worked for over 30 years and ran a good poultry business. He saved all his earnings with the hope of helping the society one day.

“I left home with Rs.5 in my pocket and earned a 500-acre land with my bare hard work. I have given my daughter 2% of my property and 1% cent to my wife. Rest 97%, I am giving back to society”, he said.

During his time at the IAF, one gentleman called GD Naidu had taught the soldiers that they should give back to the country once their family responsibilities are done with.

“You should not take back anything because you did not get anything while coming. Give that minimum needed to your family and the rest to the society, and rest of The life work for the society”, he said.

And now after 40 years, he has given back to society and also managed to set up a sports university! Once wanting to win an Olympic medal for the country, he now encourages young boys and girls interested in sports and trains them.

“I established one sports university-like campus in about 50 acres of land. In another 50 acres of land, I am building another sports university. My ambition is to build two sports universities – one for boys and one for girls. As a child, I had the ambition to win Olympic medal but I could not. So, for the last 20 years, I have been training children”, he said.
