All you meat lovers might have salivated on the thought of hogging juicy, tender boneless chicken wings with your choice of dip. TBH, ever since I first devoured this yummy treat, I couldn’t delete its name from my mind and its flavour from my palate.
However, a person named Andrew Christianson found the name ‘boneless chicken wings’ so problematic that he filed a plea to rename it, reports Times Now.
The resident of a town called Lincoln in USA’s Nebraska city raised his concern during the open mic session of a council meeting. He went on to say how his town has been casually ignoring a problem that got so out of control that the kids in the vicinity are ‘casually throwing around names and words’ without even understanding their true meaning.
He said, “I go into nice family restaurants and see people throwing this name around and pretending as though everything is fine. I am talking about boneless chicken wings.” That’s when someone from the audiences giggles at his proposal. However, ignoring the laughs, he continued, “I propose we as a city remove the name ‘boneless wings’ from our menus and from our hearts.”
Supporting his arguments with three reasons he said:
“Firstly, nothing about boneless chicken wings actually comes from the wing of a chicken. Secondly, boneless chicken wings are just chicken tenders which are already boneless. I don’t go and order boneless tacos or boneless club sandwiches, it’s just what’s expected.”
And finally, he added:
“We need to raise our children better. Our children are raised being afraid of having bones attached to their meat. That’s where meat comes from, it grows on bones. We need to teach them that the wing of a chicken is from a chicken and delicious!”
He also suggested alternative names for it, “We can call them ‘buffalo style chicken tenders’, ‘wet tender’, ‘saucy nugs’ or simply ‘trash’.” He further divulged that by taking these steps the town can show the country where they stand.
His entire speech was recorded and extensively shared on social media.
Don’t want to get too political here … but he has a point. #SaucyNugs #KeepLNKWeird pic.twitter.com/uFgpyTRAAV

While some thought he had a point, others found his speech funny and amusing. Take a look at how people responded online:
He has a point and it's wrong, boneless wings are wings 😤

Who thinks this is funny and amusing if this is what what said at a council meeting

Mildly humorous but a waste of everybody's time. I'm sure Lincoln NE has bigger fish to fry, no pun intended.

I don’t know why that guy wrote down his speech. He should have just gone up to the podium and winged it!

Love how seriously he gets through this. LMAO when he says "excuse me" during the laughter.

I lost it at “we can call them saucy nugs or trash”

I get annoyed when the waitress asks “traditional or boneless” when I order wings. You hear this @PJsPub ?!? There’s wings; and then there’s nuggets! Spicy Nugs they shall forever be!

This is what I've been saying to you @KevinLighty. They're just nuggets.

Well, I second his statement where he said they are delicious. What do you think of his straight-face speech on renaming ‘boneless chicken wings’? Tell us.
