Marriages are subjective and have different meanings for different people. Hence, their way of getting into matrimony also differs. While some prefer going the highway and having a big fat wedding, others just want their close ones to witness their union by signing it off at the marriage registrar.
And the debate of whether registered marriage is better or a big fat Indian wedding is an ongoing thing.
Recently, people on Reddit shared their two cents on the matter after a user posed this question:

It was during a conversation with her friend that the user ‘Another-Banter5697’ wondered if there are people like her in the country who would prefer a registered marriage over a big fat Indian wedding.
“I was having a conversation with my friend and I told him that I would prefer a registered marriage over a big fat Indian wedding. He then told me that no one would like to get married through register marriages. He went ahead and also told me that I will settle for a big fat Indian wedding eventually as the chances of finding a bride who accepts a register marriage is very low. So I was wondering whether are there any people like me in our country.”
Her query online was met with a lot of responses. And a lot of people saw her point in having a registered marriage.
A registered wedding came across as ‘cold’ to some.
