I Asked People This Question & Discovered Some Sensational Answers & A Hidden Truth

Real men drink their coffee black and whiskey neat.
Real men don’t cry.
Real men fuck hard.
Real men can hold their own in a fight.

There are so many false notions attached with what makes any guy a real man.

Most of these whims are blatant sexist stereotypes risen out of tales from the past that feature men as the powerful, aggressive, egoistic people who chop wood, hunt, and fight wars. But this is not the sixteenth century. Does ‘real man’ even mean anything today?

So I set out to find out what it means to be a real man in the present world. I asked everyone I met, be it a small boy or an old aunt, be it a senior citizen uncle or a teenage girl. The background of people varied, their perceptions varied, even their answers varied.

Here are some of the answers that I came across:

You know what I realized after these versatile answers?

You are a man as soon as the twenty-third pair of chromosome connects in your body. The concept of ‘real man’ is an illusion. It was created earlier to assign work and demand respect, later used to sell products, and finally exploited to create a stigma to curb originality.

Endline

The fight is to be a human. Be compassionate, respectful, ambitious, and open-minded. That should do.

“If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!”-Rudyard Kipling
