A while back, Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman revealed that he wasn’t getting enough work in Bollywood due to a “gang” that was spreading false rumours about him. Actor Ranvir Shorey, who earlier got into a heated argument with filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, also referenced “the gang” in his recent tweets and shed light on exactly how they operate.
Without taking any names, he started off with who the members of the gang are and what their endgame is.
“The Gang” is essentially a mutually beneficial alliance of a few powerful, corrupt, crafty old men, and a few second generation younger producers who have inherited film empires. Their objective is to have control over the top of the pyramid and have pliable stars. #Bollywood

Then he recalled a personal experience with one of the members.
I’ve had a run in with one of them 15 years ago. This is the man who fancies himself as the holy-moly Dronacharya of the gang, except when it comes to covering up the indiscretions and crimes of his own offsprings. A product of a damaged mind and faux spirituality.

And finally, he revealed how the gang gets what it wants by taking advantage of people’s vulnerabilities and ostracising them in the industry.
The modus operandi is that when you’re vulnerable, like the death or loss of a close one, you’re professionally & socially ostracised by spreading lies and rumours, through the media, as well as the grapevine, leaving you disoriented and hopeless with a sense of doom.

Who would’ve thought that behind all the glitz and glamour, there was a dark (and ugly) side to the Indian film industry?
