The dhol taashe for Bajirao Mastani were heard long before it got released. The producers spared no attempt in marketing the film and as a result, the hype for the film was high.
Most viewers were happy with the film and the critics gave them a rare smile. Ranveer and Deepika are widely appreciated for their roles in the film and there is a new name in Ranveer Singh’s fan list.

Anil Kapoor, who played Ranveer Singh’s father in Dil Dhadakne Do went all out in praising Ranveer Singh. So much so that he compared him to the famous Hollywood actor Russell Crowe in Gladiator.
He tweeted saying,
Indias answer to @russellcrowe from gladiator @RanveerOfficial ! https://t.co/zsaaUOEwvc

Ranveer’s gracious reply to his uncle, Anil Kapoor’s tweet kept the Twiteratti busy. While some of them agreed, others couldn’t fight the same thought that we had,
@AnilKapoor @russellcrowe @RanveerOfficial just like India’s answer to inception was “Dilwale”.

Nonetheless, I am not sure if I would compare him to Russell Crowe, but Ranveer Singh sure knows how to win hearts.
