Ranbir Kapoor is hands down one of the best offerings by Bollywood in recent times. The Kapoor khandaan ka chirag stole hearts right from his first appearance in Saawariya as the lovable boy next door. Since then, he has proved that he is a man who can fit into many skins comfortably, an enviable characteristic in an actor. As Jordan in Rockstar, Murphy Johnson in Barfi, Johnny Balraj in Bombay Velvet and of course, his otherworldly transformation in Sanju is a testimony of his ability to impeccably sell his character to the audience.
And going by the looks of it, he’s done it again. Making good use of his transformative powers, Ranbir decided to put his salesman qualities to the test by quite literally morphing into an enthusiastic middle-aged car salesman.
Here’s a sneak peek of the transformation process:
Curious yet? Yeah, I can imagine.
I couldn’t wait to see what the end result would look like and neither should you, so here you go:
Is there anything this guy can’t do? He is basically the Christian Bale of Bollywood!
Now, the question begs as to why he transformed into a car salesman. You’d think it was for a movie, but, nope. This was for something a bit more fun.
Ranbir took his new avatar, Pankaj Arora, for a spin at a Renault showroom where he pretended to be a Renault employee showing a young couple all the bells and whistles of the new KWID.
The unsuspecting couple didn’t have the faintest clue that they were being pranked by the famous Kabir ‘Bunny’ Tapar of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
Speaking at length about the SUV inspired design, rear armrest, AMT dial and 180 mm ground clearance, Ranbir has quite some fun with the unwitting couple.
And even though he drops slight hints about his true identity, the couple fails to pick up on it. That is, until the big reveal when their jaw hits the floor.
Watch watch watch:
Ranbir has been the brand ambassador for Renault since 2015 and this prank was quite an amusing way to fulfil his role. Also, if he were to ever pitch the features of the new KWID to me, you bet your ass I’m buying it.
Would you have been able to identify him if you were the one being pranked in this scenario? Who are we kidding? Of course not. The man takes dedication to the role to a whole new level. Well played, Pankaj Arora. Well played indeed.
