Director Siddharth Anand To Remake Hollywood Movie ‘Rambo’ After Remaking ‘Knight And Day’

Filmmaker, Siddharth Anand is the man who has given you movies like Kuch Khatti Kuch Meethi, Saalam Namaste, Ta Ra Rum Pum, Bachna Ae Haseeno, Aanjana Aanjani and Bang Bang. Apart from the last one, most of his films were on sappy romance which could have been considered his forte had he not shown the courage to remake the most iconic action movie in history – Rambo.

The Indian version of the Rambo franchise, which is to be released as a trilogy, will probably have Hrithik Roshan in the shoes of John Rambo. Anand, although, hasn’t finalized on the decision, has mentioned that Roshan has been on the top of his mind for the role.

Anand had acquired the rights of remaking Rambo in Hindi two years ago and feels that this is the prefect to introduce the Indian version of the epic franchise with Sylvester Stallone retiring from the Rambo universe.

He had also mentioned that Indians have grown up watching Stallone as John Rambo but never had anyone of their own. With India getting its first action hero (although not original), it should be something to look forward to.
