Entrepreneur’s Tweet About A Road Sign In Delhi Is Symbolic Of The Country’s Political Dilemma

Robert Frost’s poem may glorify taking the road less travelled, but in reality very few people have the option of walking the path they’d actually want to. Most of the time, the choices are limited and they’re forced to pick. So then, what do you do? Well, you take to Twitter and highlight your existential crisis with a picture that perfectly nails your dilemma! Just like businessman Rajesh Sawhney did!

Rajesh Sawhney tweeted a picture of two road signs, one going left and the other right. But it was his caption about the latent symbolism behind the picture that took the cake!

The signboard is from a road in Delhi, which diverges into two roads in opposite directions, much like Frost’s poem. You’d think, “Well, okay, big deal! Just pick one!”

But wait till you see the names of both the places!

For Sawhney, the road seems to symbolise the current situation of our nation, which is on the brink of another general election and has to choose between ‘Nehru’ Place (Congress) and ‘Modi’ Mill (BJP).

Sawhney’s dilemma then, as an entrepreneur, is to pick one of these two roads. He admits that neither is perfect. And finally, he concedes that his entrepreneurial instincts ask him to follow his own direction and keep going!

Insightful, isn’t it? But here’s a funny question, is there even a third way around these options?

Twitter seems to have enjoyed this deep takeway from a simple road sign!

Some praised Sawhney, while others even offered him some advice about which road he should be taking!

1. *Applause*

2. Left and Right!

3. Now that’s an idea!

4. There you go, here’s another option!

5. Wishful thinking much?

Fellow entrepreneurs too chimed in with their own take on Sawhney’s insight.

Must say, there’s a lesson or two for budding entrepreneurs right there!

1. Only those who adapt, survive. Darwin’s Theory of Evolution works for businesses too!

2. Go where the business leads you!

Nothing is set in stone…

The dichotomous choice isn’t just one for the businessmen, but for our entire country. As Sawhney puts it, there’s no ‘correct’ choice; there are pros and cons to both. What matters is how you make the most out of your decision or whether you have it in you to carve out a third path for yourselves.

Given a choice, which road would you take?
