In a shocking incident, Shilpa Shetty’s husband and businessman Raj Kundra has been arrested by Mumbai Police in a case involving the production of pornographic films. According to NDTV, Mumbai police claimed that he is the “key conspirator” in the case.
“There was a case registered with the Crime Branch Mumbai in Feb 2021 about the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some Apps. We’ve arrested Mr Raj Kundra in this case on 19/7/21 as he appears to be the key conspirator of this. We have sufficient evidence regarding this,” said the Mumbai Police Commissioner.
According to a report by TOI, Mumbai Police has been working on this case since the beginning of this year. 11 people have been arrested so far including model and actor Gehana Vasisth. Raj Kundra’s name surfaced in the case after the police traced the involvement of a UK-based company named ‘Kenrin’ whose executive, Umesh Kamat, was Kundra’s ex-employee.
Umesh Kamat allegedly uploaded at least 8 “pornographic and obscene” videos featuring Gehana Vasisth on an app.
Raj Kundra has been booked under sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention) and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays) of the IPC and under the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.

After his arrest, Raj Kundra was taken for a medical examination. Later, he was taken to the Mumbai Police Commissioner’s office and he spent the night in custody at the Mumbai Crime Branch, reports TOI.
