Rahul Gandhi made headlines today when he accused RSS of preventing him from entering a temple (satra) during his Assam visit.
Rahul claimed earlier today that members of the RSS (specially women) blocked his way and didn’t let him enter the Barpeta Satra, one of the most popular Vaishnavite temples.
Congress Chief Minister of Assam, Tarun Gogoi and his son, MP Gaurav Gogoi also joined in.
But wait, there’s only one problem with the whole story: They’re bullshitting.
Here is the full story:
Raju Das, who hails from the same Barpeta town which Rahul Gandhi visited revealed the true story on opIndia
Rahul Gandhi was scheduled to go to the Barpeta Satra on 12th Dec to kickoff his padyatra
Hearing this, hundreds of people gathered outside the satra to have a glimpse of him. And this also included women who were waiting for him to arrive.

The Burha Satradhikar (loose translation: the head priest), Sri Basishtha Sarma was also waiting there to receive the VVIP guest.
Local TV channels started covering the event live. No channel showed any protest or blocking Rahul Gandhi. Why? Because he never went there!
People learnt that Rahul has already started the padyatra without visiting the satra. People were dumbfounded. The explanation given by Congress MLA Chandan Sarkar at that time was that Rahul Gandhi had not taken bath in the morning, he was not wearing a dhoti, and they were already late, and hence he didn’t enter the Satra.
Bullshit, just some women there waiting for Rahul Gandhi to arrive, lining up to pose for a photo. https://t.co/KKOR6wIKXt
