Raghu Ram’s Divorce Announcement Proves That Endings Don’t Always Have To Be Bitter

Raghu Ram has been infamous for his aggressive-macho image on the MTV show ‘Roadies‘ when it came out all those years ago. I was one of those who had a crush on him, and I’m not ashamed to admit it. From his manner of putting people in their right places during auditions to the way he would yell at the participants when they failed to perform the tasks, it was a treat to watch it all. He set the bar for unbiased and constructively critical judges very high.

He may not be a major part of the show currently, but he is still setting trends and standards for us out here.

Raghu Ram and his wife Sugandha were finally granted a divorce last week. Instead of the usual hush-hush that celebrities like to do to keep the media away, Raghu announced it very pleasantly and joyously with an Instagram post.

“Some things never change. Like the love I have for you. Like the fun we have always had together. Nothing ends. It changes and the next phase begins. #FriendshipGoals #DivorceGoals”

The couple tied the knot in 2006 and had an assumably happy marriage until now. We’ve all heard of ‘#RelationshipGoals’, but this is the first time we’re introduced to ‘#DivorceGoals’.

The adorable caption answers every question the media might have wanted to ask them – “Is it a mutual decision?”, “Is the divorce amicable?”, “Will you and Sugandha still remain friends?”, “How does it feel ending a 12-year marriage?” etc. Well, he has it all out in the open.

Endings are bitter and goodbyes are painful. But sometimes, when the relationship has run its due course, it only makes sense to part ways before it becomes toxic for any of the partners. You don’t have to stop loving someone just because the relationship is ending. You can love them from afar and cherish the memories you have with them.

And Raghu Ram’s post goes on to prove just that – that endings don’t always have to be bitter.
