Indian roads are not just occupied by vehicles and pedestrians. There are also religious processions, wedding baraats and festival crowds on the streets from time to time. But what happens when an ambulance needs to pass through the crowds at such times? Well, if you’re thinking about how Hong Kong protestors made way for an ambulance in an orderly manner and simultaneously shaking your head that it cannot happen here, then you’re in for a beautiful surprise.
Back in March, a massive festival crowd in Palakkad (Kerala) displayed responsible citizenship by letting a hospital emergency vehicle pass through. And now Odisha has repeated the feat.
According to India Today, the incident happened during Jagannath Puri Rath Yatra on July 4. Around 1200 volunteers and all the devotees in attendance worked in unison to form a human corridor and create an uninterrupted passage for an ambulance.

Every year thousands of devotees gather in Puri and participate in the procession of Lord Jagannath. Amidst all these people, it was wonderful to witness such discipline and humanity for providing safe passage to an emergency vehicle.
Desi Twitter heaped praises on everyone involved. Here, take a look.
Commendable 👏

Kudos to Odisha police officials, the 10 organizations and all the people that helped achieve this incredible feat. We sincerely hope that every other city follows the same example.
