Purab Kohli Opens Up About Fathering A Love Child With Girlfriend Lucy Payton

Indian society, even in 2016 is quite conservative when it comes to relationships. Couples who are together without having a physical document to officiate their relationship is strictly frowned upon. Amidst such a sentiment in society, Purab Kohli bravely admits to the fact that his daughter Inaya is a love child.

Purab and his girlfriend, Lucy Payton had Inaya last year when the two were still unmarried. However, the couple refused to bend under societal pressure to get married just because of their child.

“When Inaya was conceived, we were not married and it didn’t matter to me. When Lucy called me and said, ‘Hey we are having a baby and I said wow. Let’s do it.”

Even today, the couple remains proud of their decision.

Ever since the news of the pregnancy, Purab and Lucy were being pressurised by the family to get married.

“But I was adamant about not doing it because I never wanted my baby to feel that we got into a relationship because she was coming. Her coming into this world has transformed both our lives for the better. She is our love child and has bloomed even more love between both of us and made me love life more.”

Purab also revealed that he has some big plans for his marriage with Lucy.

“We have legally signed the papers and will have a big celebration next year in London. We just want Inaya to be standing on her two feet and hold the flowers while we take our vows.”

After becoming a father, Purab feels that his life has totally changed for the better.

“Fatherhood changes everything. Fatherhood is a gift I wish upon everybody, especially of a baby girl. When you have a child, you stop living for yourself.”

We respect Purab Kohli’s decision to refuse to bow down to societal pressure or do anything just because convention demands it. Inaya will certainly find two excellent role models in her parents.

We wish the happy couple all the luck in the world!
