Just when you thought that it’s a big bad world with no humanity, here’s something that will melt your heart and make your Saturday bright and beautiful. The story of an extraordinary Labrador puppy born with six legs who found a loving new home for himself is sure to make you tear up.
But what’s fascinating is that a complete stranger touched by the dog’s inability to lead a normal life presented it with an extraordinary gift, and that is the sweetest thing ever.
The adorable pooch was named ‘Roo’ by her family after a Kangaroo as she had to hop around on her back legs when she walks. Lauren bought Roo from a breeder, after her 15-year-old son Luke, spotted her online. She said it was love at first sight for Luke who suffers from psoriasis, a rare skin condition that causes red, flaky, patches of skin.
“Luke is like a protective father to her. They never leave each other’s sides and she even sleeps in his bed.” Roo who has now become Luke’s best friend helps him get distracted from his ill health at times with her charm.
“Luke feels like the odd one out because of his condition, and now he’s got a best friend to match. I think Roo will reduce Luke’s stress and that should help his skin.”
However, the little dog lived a difficult life with restricted mobility, but all that was about to change. Lauren (a mother of four from London) claims a kind stranger purchased a £400 (Rs 32,100 approx.) wheelchair for the 10-week-old Roo.
“Now she’ll be able to live a much more normal life, thanks to the stranger’s touching gesture,” says Lauren.
According to Lauren, the person who donated the wheelchair wanted to do something good in memory of the pet she lost recently.
“She wanted to do something good in her dog’s memory. We will meet the stranger halfway in the wheels and she can have a cuddle with Roo which she can’t wait for. I’m overwhelmed that she donated a wheelchair to let Roo have a normal life,” adds Lauren.
It is heartwarming to see how someone’s small gesture can make a huge impact on so many lives. We are sure when the stranger meets Roo, she will be happy to see the ecstatic and overjoyed pup living her best life.
