The Orion Nebula is one of the brightest nebulae and is situated in the Milky Way, located south of Orion’s Belt in the constellation of Orion. According to NASA, it is 1,500 light-years away from the Earth and hence, is the closest star-forming region to the Earth. It is visible to the naked eye in the night sky.
A 20-year-old photographer from Pune named Aditya drove for 7 hours to a location near Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, in search of a very dark sky. He took 110 images of the Orion Nebula and stacked them one on top of each other. The final image looks stunning!
The exact location from where the pictures were taken is 70 kilometres away from Ratnagiri. Very close to Rajapur is a small village named ‘Kondye’ from where the guy worked, it seems.
