Pulwama Attack: “Veer Jawan Amar Rahe” Echoes At Wreath Laying Ceremony Of CRPF Bravehearts

Yesterday, Pulwama, a district in Jammu & Kashmir, was the site of a deadly terror attack. A suicide bomber crashed his explosive-packed SUV into a bus carrying CRPF personnel. The terrorist identified as Adil Ahmad Dar killed at least 40 jawans and is believed to be working for Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condemned the attack and so have other nations like the US, Russia and Australia.

Tribute was paid to these brave soldiers in the CRPF camp in Budgam. Home Minister Rajnath Singh was seen carrying a coffin along with J&K Governor Satya Pal Malik.

The wreath laying ceremony was filled with chants of ‘Veer Jawan Amar Rahe’

NDTV reports that the remains of the troopers will be flown to their families by the home ministry. Our prayers are with their near and dear in this time of mourning.

In the aftermath of the attack, Pakistan’s ‘Most Favoured Nation’ status has been revoked.

Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb has announced INR 2 lakh each for the grieving families. Furthermore, actor Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar have declined an invitation from the Karachi Arts Council saying, “We will need to call halt to cultural exchange.”

An all-party meeting has been scheduled in Parliament tomorrow to determine how the nation is going to respond to the attack.
