In June, the government banned 59 Chinese apps including TikTok, Shein, Cam Scanner, Clash of Kings, UC Browser, ShareIt, Club Factory, Viva Video and Beauty Plus. Thereafter, 47 more apps were added to this list citing security reasons.
Now, the Ministry of Information & Technology has blocked 118 mobile apps under Section 69 of the IT Act in the interest or “sovereignty and integrity of India, Defence of India, security of the state and public order.”
The list includes PUBG MOBILE Nordic Map: Livik, PUBG MOBILE LITE, WeChat reading, WeChat work, Cyber Hunter, Knives Out, Smart AppLock etc.
