Telangana Deputy CM Plans To Give Sindhu “Proper Coaching To Win Gold Next Time”. WTF?!

Pullela Gopichand’s name is present in every byline with the headlines of P V Sindhu winning the silver medal at Rio Olympics.

And it should be, because it is due to his discipline Sindhu has grown to be a star. Just like her senior and 2012 medallist – Saina Nehwal.

 

But Telangana deputy CM Mahmood Ali thinks otherwise. He plans to give Sindhu “proper coaching” so that she can win the gold medal in the next Olympics

The ignorance of the official is immense since the coaching Gopichand provides is one of the best in the world.

The quote reflects how out of touch politicians are with the sports scene in India. The statement discredits everything Gopichand has done for the players and for the country. Which is more than any politician will ever do.

We need the facilities, which again, Gopichand has lobbied for personally. He has single-handedly changed the sport of Badminton in India.

We hope future politicians speak sense and act with it too.
