Unless you’ve been living under a rock with no access to wi-fi, you definitely know about the #NickYanka wedding in Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur. Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas said I Do in a gorgeous western ceremony wearing designer Ralph Lauren. The whole event was gorgeous but what truly stole the show, was our desi girl’s 75 feet (yes you read that right!) long wedding veil.
Let’s Take A Moment To Admire Her Breathtaking Veil
Priyanka wanted to add certain personal elements to her dress and Ralph Lauren happily obliged. His team stitched by hand 8 words and phrases into the piece- The groom’s full name – Nicholas Jerry Jonas, their wedding date and also the bride’s parents’ names. A piece of her mother-in-law’s vintage wedding dress lace was also included in the final design.
The intricately embroidered high neck collar dress had floral motifs and tulle appliques. The entire piece boasted a whopping 2,380,000 mother of pearl sequins and took almost 1,826 hours to finish. But that tulle veil! Ah! What a thing of beauty spanning 75 feet.
From Sketch to Reality
Meghan Markle’s personal stylist, Jessica Mulroney gave a huge thumbs up to her wedding gown by saying:
“Perfect dress choice. Love to the happy couple”
