Toronto Park Reopens Amid Lockdown, Visitors Start Pooping And Urinating In Open

Many parks around the globe have a ‘poop and scoop’ signboards for pet owners. These signs remind people to clean up the poop done by their pet, in order to keep the public places clean. However, it is unusual to see such a signboard for humans. Or so I thought.

Recently, a locality in Toronto put up a ‘poop and scoop’ signboard for humans. The Trinity Bellwoods Park had a sign that showed a human defecating in the open while another picked it up, reports News18.

It all started when the park reopened for the public amid the lockdown. While social distancing arrangements were made in the park, the bathrooms were still closed. Some of the residents in the area complained that they spotted people urinating and defecating in open spaces, reports the Toronto Sun.

The board was reportedly put into display to stop people from defecating in the public. The signboard read, “Be a Good Neighbor, pick up after your human.” It also had a toilet roll attached to it to make a point. However, it also came with a disclaimer that asked people to not really poop in the park.

Have to admit…this is good. Thanks to the pet owners that pick up after theirs🙏🏽

Local councilor Joe Cressy addressed the problem and was quoted saying, “The City of Toronto has 1,500 parks and while we saw largely and appropriate physical distancing taking place, Trinity Bellwoods was an exception.” He also said that the necessary arrangements would be made soon.

You don’t really think of people pooping in parks when you say ‘Toronto’, but hey, it’s 2020…everything is possible. What do you think? Tell us.
