Pulwama Police Stops Terror Attack By Destroying Explosive-Laden Car, Watch Video

Last year, the Pulwama terror attack which claimed the lives of 44 jawans shook the country to its very core. If you remember, the attack was initiated by terrorist the organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed and was carried out by an explosive-laden vehicle which was rammed into a security-force bus causing a blast.

A very similar kind of attack was initiated again in Pulwama last night. According to a report by Hindustan Times, a major terror attack was prevented by the Pulwama police after they stopped a vehicle allegedly carrying 30kg of explosives.

The police received information from a credible source about a terrorist driving an explosive-laden car. Search parties were immediately put into action. A white-coloured Santro was suspected of the attack and shots were fired at it, after which the driver abandoned the car and fled.

It is said that the driver of the explosive-laden car was aiming for a camp or forces.

“We got intelligence about a possible attack. The security forces opened fire. The driver managed to escape, leaving behind the car laden with IED,” NDTV quoted Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar saying.

According to TOI, the explosives were stored in a drum on the rear seat. More explosives were suspected to be hidden elsewhere in the car.

People living in the area were evacuated and the Bomb Disposal Squad destroyed the vehicle on sight as moving it would cause a serious threat.
