The coronavirus quarantine has not been easy for kids. Some of them are missing social interaction and their friends so much that they’re greeting imaginary strangers while others are experiencing anxiety after hearing news reports. But most of all, they are dejected that they can no longer have fun birthday parties.
So, parents and local police departments are teaming up to make their birthdays extra special. How you ask? By sounding sirens, singing happy birthday and having a social distancing parade of police cars.

This ‘party’ even had firetrucks, how cool is that?
Our officers, Danville PD, and San Ramon Valley Fire Station 34 helped make 6-year-old Cal’s birthday even more special. Cal was so excited to see the 🚒 and 🚓 with their 🚨 and sirens on just for him. Thanks Cal for inviting us to be part of your birthday celebration! 🎉 pic.twitter.com/rY8v8HywGM

Cops around the world are bringing balloons, cakes, and stuffed toys to excited toddlers. Take a look.
SOUND ON: Sgt. Motola delivers a birthday 🎂 to this cute little boy and even surprises him with 🎈. The most adorable part is when the boy screams YAY after seeing Sgt. Motola. #InThisTogether ❤️ #MBeKind pic.twitter.com/zX7Qcd2vAK

Closer home, head constable Gurpreet Singh (Mansa district Police, Punjab) and his team celebrated 1-year-old Mayra’s birthday by delivering a cake for her as her parents couldn’t step outside during lockdown.
Mansa cops delivered cake to a 1-year-old girl whose family was unable to go out for shopping due to #lockdown . The Times of India quoted Mansa SSP Narinder Bhargav saying,
“The first birthday of any kid is considered as most special but due to the curfew and lockdown, parents were not able to celebrate the birthday of their kids. The Mansa police will send cake at home of such children.”
Thank you, to all the cops who went above and beyond the call of duty to put a smile on a child’s face.
