Grandview shopping centre in the city of Guangzhou, China keeps a polar bear locked inside an enclosure at display so that mall visitors can click selfies with the animal – a ploy to generate more footfall in the mall.

Dubbed the saddest polar bear in the world, the grand animal is kept cramped inside an enclosure and often disturbed to pose with shoppers.
Polars bears require a huge space to thrive in their natural self and cramping an endangered animal inside shopping mall with just profit in mind has been heavily criticized by several organisations.
Animals Asia’s Animal Welfare Director Dave Neale said, “Taking animals from their natural environments can never be defended, but when they’re rehomed in conditions like we’re seeing at the Grandview Aquarium it’s the worst possible situation.”
To make it worse, the shopping complex has also kept a walrus and a wolf in captivity just for the sake of entertainment.
