You obviously know stories about the man who has changed the politics of the country and Modi-fied one and all.

Undoubtedly, Narendra Modi is one of the most charismatic leader India has seen in a long time. On his 65th birthday, here are 9 facts about the life of the man who has become a phenomenon.
1. India’s social worker…Yes, good deeds pay off
Narendra Modi had been a patriot since childhood. During 1965 Indo-Pak war, he volunteered to serve the soldiers going in the war at the railway stations. He also served the flood affected people of Gujarat in 1967, at a tender age of 17.
2. Sanyaas. Himalayas. Sadhus.
Modi was always fond of the Hindutva philosophy. He visited many places including Ramakrishna Ashram of Belur in West Bengal. Finally, he reached the Himalayas alone and wandered aimlessly and stayed with unknown but yogic Sadhus for 2 years.
3. Life of a Tea-seller
He has a thrilling backstory, from being a tea-seller to being the PM of India. After returning from the Himalayas, Modi helped his brother run a tea stall at the State Transport Office in Ahmedabad. The hardships he faced there was the changing factor to his life, that made him much more determined.
4. ‘I am Narendra Modi’s wife’ – Who is She?
The biggest mystery of Narendra Modi’s life was his marital status. The world knew him as a ‘bachelor’ till the time he declared himself as married in his election affidavit. A magazine published a story in 2009 that claimed Jashodaben to be Modi’s wife. Modi’s wife is a retired school teacher and lives in Rajosana village of Banaskantha district. She got married to Modi at an early age.
5. The social media savvy PM’s love for TTS – Technology, Twitter, and Selfies.
Social media and technology played a large role in his campaign. He is accessible to anyone who wishes to write to him, has 15 million followers on Twitter, and our PM loves clicking selfies.
6. Gone are the days when politicians paid no heed to fashion.
It is not that only model and cine world personalities are only fashionable. A swami at the Ramakrishna Mission at Rajkot advised him to keep a beard – something that has stayed with him ever since. He is, however, very choosy about his clothes and mostly picks them from the store Jade Blue of Ahmedabad.
7. A complete package – Orator, Poet, Photographer and Writer.
He writes poems in his leisure time, loves photography and even held a couple of exhibitions to showcase his photographs. There is too much talent packed in the man.
8. Modi – Connecting with people
Every year, Modi fasts for nine days to observe a certain way of life. And we all know about Mann ki Baat.
9. Public Relations + Image Management = Public Image Management.
He pursued a 3-month course in the United States on PR and Image Management. One of the reasons behind his success in positioning himself as one of the most popular politicians of the world, maybe?
We have a leader now who is not just talking the talk or walking the walk, but motivating the youth to be leaders. Love him or hate him, you have to accept that he has successfully established himself as the people’s leader.
