PM Modi To Address Nation At 4 PM Today After Banning 59 Chinese Apps

The coronavirus tally of India currently stands at 5,66,840 cases and 16,893 deaths. The silver lining amid the pandemic is the 3.34 lakh recoveries so far. Yesterday, the Centre announced fresh guidelines for Unlock 2.0 which will come into force from 1 July.

According to The Economic Times, night curfew timings have been modified to 10 pm to 5 am, educational institutions will remain closed till 31 July and social gatherings are still barred. The state government of Maharashtra has extended lockdown till 31 July.

According to DNA India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the country at 4 pm today. The topic of his address has not been specified.

Earlier, the government banned 59 apps with Chinese links including TikTok for “engaging in activities prejudicial to the sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, the security of the state and public order,” reports NDTV.
