Animal cruelty is a heartbreaking sight for pet owners. We always tend to imagine our pet’s face when we come across something horrible happening to an animal.
Animal lovers and pet owners never really find anything unattractive about them. If you want to know what love at first sight feels like, stare into the eyes of a puppy. You’ll go from “Hi” to “OMG I LOVE YOU” in just about 5 seconds!
So it came as a complete shocker when this woman from China found her pet cat “ugly” and actually went on to give it plastic surgery.
An unnamed woman from China reportedly had a plastic surgery done on her cat’s eyes after claiming she didn’t like the shape of them and thought they were “ugly”.
And also, she spent 10,000 Yuans (approx 1.06 Lakh INR) to get the surgery done.
The poor cat had to go through a double-eyelid operation, where a crease is added to the animal’s eyelids to create the look of a monolid, like most East Asian people tend to have.
The pictures show that the area around the cat’s eyes had to be shaved off which have now become red and swollen from the pain.
According to the hospital staff, double-eyelid surgery on pet animals is very common. The pet owners opt for the operation so that their pets can participate in shows.

However, this news was received under very bad light and a lot of people are criticizing the woman and the hospital for animal cruelty.

The vet should lose their license and she should be done for cruelty. The vet should've called the RSPCA and reported her for cruelty they shouldn't have done the procedure

All pets are precious no matter how they look like. Their behaviour doesn’t change if their owners have a scar. So why should humans treat pets like a chair you can reconstruct or throw away when one leg starts squeaking?
