At 11.38 pm yesterday, the moon came closest to the Earth at 356,907 kilometres which made it the biggest and brightest of the year 2020, reports Business Today. And despite the coronavirus lockdown, we Indians had a date with the stunning beauty at 8.05 am this morning. Don’t worry if you missed it though; because Twitter didn’t.

Photography enthusiasts around the world captured the breathtaking celestial event with their cameras and here are some of the best shots we found.

According to CNN, the next supermoon will grace the night sky on May 7 and later this year, the month of October will have two full moons which is also named the ‘Blue Moon’. However, the next pink supermoon (or “sprouting grass moon” or “egg moon”) will be visible in the spring of 2021.

Looking at these images was the perfect start to the day, wasn’t it?
