“We knew it’s a good film but the magnitude of response was unexpected. It moved people to tears.”

She says that the film holds a mirror to our society, and the subject tackled in the film is the need of the hour.

The character that she plays in the film, Minal, is a headstrong woman of an unapologetic nature. Taapsee talks about how, with this character, she wanted to change the stereotypical image that people have of Delhi women.

She felt that her past performances in movies like ‘Shaitan’ and ‘Khichidi’ did not receive the attention they deserved however, the response she received for her performance in ‘Pink’ makes it all better.

Kirti said that there are a lot of things to take away from the film and highlights what she personally feels is paramount.

She adds that no one should ever have the right to invade your personal space in any which way.

After the film, a major factor that changed for her personally was her attitude towards herself and the men around her.

“And to all these men who look at me in a predatory way, I have the strength to shut them up when I feel necessary without blaming myself for the way they see me and choose to see me.”

3. Andrea Tariang

The actress, who is also a professional singer, plays herself in the film. She narrates the incident when she first decided to take a step into acting, that too directly into a film starring Amitabh Bachchan.

She initially never planned on getting into acting, especially not a Bollywood film.

After being selected to play one of the leading ladies in Pink, she says she had a lot to learn including polishing up her Hindi skills. She also talks about numerous things she took from the film back into her personal life.

Well, these three ladies certainly did a splendid job playing their respective roles in the movie, and based on their performances, I’m sure we shall be seeing them a lot more often on the big screen.
