PewDiePie Versus T-Series Battle Gets Ugly After Someone Vandalises A World War II Memorial

Most fictional and real fights have a familiar pattern. There’s the inciting incident, the build-up, the mid-point lull and the climax. And although it’s not something new, it’s pretty engaging. Now, the war between T-Series and YouTuber PewDiePie followed that pattern. But since it overstayed its welcome, the premise has begun to feel drawn out and pointless.

However, that hasn’t stopped the topic from getting some immature developments. For example, online celebs have come to Pewd’s support. Additionally, online hackers have put their skills to use to draw attention to his channel. And now, his subscribers have started to vandalise public properties to support the cause.

Reddit user u/Gato1980 posted a photo of the Brooklyn War Memorial in Cadman Plaza Park to show that someone had defaced it by writing “Subscribe to PewDiePie”.

Now, since this is a World War II Memorial, I don’t think I’ve to explain why this is disrespectful to the memory of the soldiers who gave their lives in a war that had real-life consequences.

The reaction to this development in the PewDiePie vs T-Series subscriber-war was mixed. While some considered this act of vandalism to be offensive, others pointed out that as it was written in chalk it should be simply washed off.

In my opinion, given how this “battle” has stemmed from the internet, it should stay over there and not spill over to the physical realm. I am pretty sure that people can come up with new and inventive ways to make their favourite channel win without vandalising important public places.
