The moment the global market fluctuates, it immediately affects the prices of petrol and diesel. And this time, the fuel prices have skyrocketed and have reached Rs 100 in many Indian states including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
The petrol and diesel prices have been hiked 15 times in this month since May 4th making it break all its old records. According to a report by NDTV, the updated price of petrol stands at Rs 93.94 per litre after a 26 paise raise in New Delhi. Whereas, diesel prices were increased by 28 paise to Rs 84.89 per litre.
However, in Mumbai, petrol prices surpassed Rs 100. As of today, petrol costs Rs 100.19 a litre and diesel comes for Rs 92.17 per litre in Mumbai, reported The Telegraph.
This was an obvious reason for people to get furious. Hence, they went on to social media and shared memes and jokes sarcastically mocking their helpless condition.

The difference in fuel prices across the country also depends on the additional taxes that are levied by the state governments. Hope the authorities understand the gravity of the situation and come up with ways to ease the burden on its citizens.
