Pet Dog Helps Family Trace Rapist In Coimbatore; Accused Arrested

We have come across many stories of dogs protecting their pet parents and even strangers on the road. For instance, a Mumbai doggo saved its owner when a shirtless stalker attempted to sexually assault her, or how a street dog rushed to help a woman getting robbed.

On Friday night, a 29-year-old man named S Dhilipkumar from Thillai Nagar in Selvapuram went to the home of a 30-year-old woman with learning difficulties. She stayed separately in a shed with an electricity connection provided by her family who resides inside the house, TOI reports.

Dhilipkumar parked his vehicle 200 meters away from the residence and went inside. The house’s pet dog noticed the man and bit his pant when he tried to escape. The brave dog ensured that the man didn’t move from the spot till the other family members were alerted.

Meanwhile, the family inside noticed that the shed’s lights were suspiciously switched off and they went there to find Dhilipkumar inside. The family immediately alerted the neighbors and handed the intruder over to the Selvapuram police.

Preliminary inquiry revealed that the rapist works as a goldsmith and has shockingly visited the woman’s place twice in the past and raped her. He also recorded the act on his now-seized mobile phone, and the police found other obscene videos with women as well. He has been remanded to judicial custody.
