A palindrome is a word, phrase, or number which reads the same backward or forward.
During my school days, I remember one of my classmates telling me to notice the word MALAYALAM. ”Look! It reads the same if you read it from backward or forward.” ”Oh my God! Yes.” Overhearing the conversation from a distance, the teacher exclaimed, ”That is what a palindrome is.” That day, we had learnt a new term.
The English language is filled with palindromes. There are many words, phrases or even sentences that are palindromes. And knowing about them is absolutely fun.
