Shweta Tiwari’s Daughter Speaks Of Domestic Violence & Rumors Of Step-Dad Harassing Her

As fans, we often support the celebrities that we come to adore and admire. With TV actress, Shweta Tiwari reportedly filing a complaint against her second husband, Abhinav Kohli, her fans supported the actress in her decision.

Kasautii Zindgii Kay fame Shweta Tiwari informed policemen that Abhinav is often under the influence of alcohol and has fits of rage. She filed an FIR at Kandivali Police Station against Abhinav Kohli for domestic violence. The report said that the police interrogated him for around four hours in the presence of Shweta Tiwari and her daughter Palak Tiwari.

Amidst the rumors regarding the case, her daughter, Palak Tiwari took to social media to clear the air.

Palak shared a heartfelt post on Instagram in which she finally aired her views. She praised her mother for showing the strength to take such a step. Palak clarified that she had been a victim of domestic abuse on numerous occasions, but added that “Abhinav Kohli has never physically molested me, or touched me inappropriately.”

She thanked fans for all the care and support. But, she requested media to be more careful of what they’re publishing about stories revolving around somebody’s personal lives. She shared that it was her who was on the receiving end of the domestic abuse, not her mother. She wrote-

“As a reader of the news its often easy to forget that you do not know the truth of what goes on behind closed doors or how much fortitude my mother has shown in both her marriages. This is someone’s household you’re writing about, someone’s life you’re discussing.”

She also elucidated that, “he did persistently make inappropriate and disturbing remarks the impact of which is only known to my mother and I, and if any woman from any walk of life were to hear them she would be greatly embarrassed and provoked too. Words which would question the standing dignity of any woman, which you wouldn’t expect to hear from any man, especially not your ‘father’.”

Palak’s biological father and Shweta’s ex-husband, Raja Chaudhary was concerned about the whole ordeal. When he spoke to Bombay Times, he shared-

“I learnt about it through the media. I have been in touch with my daughter and checked on her this morning. She told me not to worry and that she is fine. It’s very disturbing for me as a father.”

It’s really important that women feel empowered to speak out in cases of domestic violence. One must not shy away even when your oppressor is a parent or a blood relative. And for that we appreciate both, the mother and the daughter, for raising their voice.
