There is no doubt that festivals have religious significance. However, festivals are also a great medium to bring various communities together to celebrate. Consider Diwali – while it is a Hindu festival, it is celebrated by people from other religions as well. Here’s an example.
Sindh, in Pakistan, is home to the country’s largest community of Hindus. As a result, Hindu festivals are celebrated on a grand scale there, including Diwali. A Pakistani content creator named Bilal Hassan, arrived at Sindh to celebrate the festival of lights for the first time and he was left amazed.
Swami Narayan Temple is the largest Hindu Temple in Karachi, Sindh’s capital city, which was decked up with beautiful lights for the festive season.
Many Hindu families landed on the streets to burst crackers. And so did Bilal and his friends. They burst various kinds of firecrackers together, exchanged lifafas (envelopes with cash) and came back home with sweets.
