Goodbyes are hard and people online recently felt the pain when they had to bid adieu to one of the sought-after Pakistani hard rock band, Strings.
The band garnered praises for multiple albums and songs like ‘Sar Kiye Yeh Pahar’, ‘Najane Kyun’, ‘Yeh Hai Meri Kahani’, ‘Aakhri Alvida’, ‘Anjane’ among others, some of which also made it to Bollywood movies like ‘Zinda’ and ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’. Even after decades of releasing their debut album, ‘Strings’, their songs still make it to the playlist of several music lovers.
However, after 33 years of entertaining their fans with their soulful music, the internationally acclaimed band, that was formed by four college friends namely Bilal Maqsood, Faisal Kapadia, Rafiq Wazir Ali, and Kareem Bashir Bhoy in 1988, finally concluded their musical journey, reported News18.
Through an Instagram post, the band made the announcement breaking several hearts across the border. They wrote:
The announcement came as a shocker to many Indian and Pakistani fans who gave them an emotional see-off online.

So after 33 years, Strings have called it a day. If you grew up in the 90s, Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia were part of your starter pack – Duur/Dhaani, Sar Kiye Yeh Pahar/Anjane, Na Jaane Kyu/ Titliyan. Their riffs whitewashed borders. Go well, gents, you were special ⚡

Yesterday #Strings disbanded. Weekend has started with listening to their songs, thinking of those years in school, I and a friend would sit at the back of our school bus, share her ipod shuffle and listen to Strings & Jal on repeat. 🙁

Thanks a lot for all the amazing songs over the years . Bilal and Faisal you made it so far and its an achievement in itself. All good things come to an end but that does not mean we stop to cherish them.

Strings have earlier as well disbanded a couple of times, but only to come back with new teammates and better music. However, this time it seems there’s no coming back.
It’s tough to stomach this fact, but probably it’s for the greater good. You will be missed!
