Priyanka Chopra, Saina Nehwal And 112 Others Honored With Padma Awards By The President

Held in two separate ceremonies this year, the Padma Awards, one of the highest civilian awards of India, will be awarded to nominees on Monday and Tuesday at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. President of India Pranab Mukherjee will be conferring the awards.

The Padma Vibhushan is the second highest civilian award of the country. For the year of 2016, Late Dhirubhai Ambani and Shri Shri Ravi Shankar werre awarded the Padma Vibhushan for Trade and Industry and Spiritualism, respectively. Rajnikanth will be awarded with the same on Tuesday.

 

Anupam Kher, Udit Narayan, and others were awarded the Padma Bhushan

For their exemplary service to their fields, Anupam Kher for cinema, Udit Narayan for playback singing, Sania Mirza for tennis, Saina Nehwal for Badminton, and other eminent figures were awarded the Padma Bhushan, with Udit Narayan receiving his on Tuesday.

 

There were 112 recipients finalised this year by the President of India, including 10 people who are foreigners, NRIs, PIOs

Priyanka Chopra, Madhur Bhandarkar, Ajay Devgn, Archer Deepika Kumari, and Late Saeed Jaffrey were awarded with the Padma Shri awards. There were four posthumous awardees this year.
