Animal caretakers have the best jobs in the world. They take care of the fluff balls, play with them, and give them warm hugs. And those who rescue and rehabilitate orphaned animals probably feel more fulfilled by their work than the rest of us.
Kenya-based Sheldrick Wildlife Trust helps conserve wildlife by taking care of orphaned elephants and here’s a peek into the level of care and attention they give to the calves. A keeper can be seen spending the night with one so that it can sleep peacefully until morning.
We’re ready to get our heads down for the evening and for the youngest orphans, that means bedding down with a Keeper so they can receive the same level of attention during the night. pic.twitter.com/OG6Xzqdc8F

Twitter can’t get enough of the kindness and dedication of the keepers. They’re comparing their work to that of guardian angels. Take a look.
Wow! They actually sleep *with* the orphans! That's seriously amazing and incredibly humane. These keepers are some of the kindest humans on the planet, I swear! If the rest of us could coexist the way the elephants and the keepers do, the world would be a better place. 💕

When you see how close the keepers get to the youngest babies it does make me wonder how difficult it might be to let them go when the young ones become more independent. They must be proud of them but I can imagine it must be heartbreaking to let them go, too.

Good Lord. A sweet little baby elephant, all snuggled under his blanket, with his very own guardian angel watching over him. Beautiful.
(I hope this man has the option for a blanket, too.)— Elle (@Lurtle) August 23, 2020
This can't be just about work and money. It's something much deeper. Something to behold over and over. Something…precious and delicate.
