All the diplomacy and world peace and “aman ki asha” aside, you cannot ignore the fact that some people in Pakistan burn every time India achieves even a bit success on an international scale.
As we know, Sakshi Malik won us the bronze medal in 58kg Women’s Wrestling and made our country proud.
And as routine would have, one person from the other side of the border got the classic case of “envy”.
Omar Quraishi is one of the Pakistani journalists who tweeted this, not mincing any of his jealous words
Finally one of the 119 competitors that India sent to Rio has won a medal – a bronze – now see how they portray it as if they won 20 golds

If it was a common troll, the tweet would not have got any traction. But this was a “blue-tick” verified account – a journalist with a voice many will listen.
Obviously, Indian citizens on Twitter did not take this lightly and came up with answers that kind of made the whole thing look like the Indo-Pak wars – ONE-SIDED, with India winning
1. Even Amitabh Bachchan chipped in with an awesome reply
@omar_quraishi Omar ..! for me it is worth a thousand golds, and even that is not enough. Pride for Sakshi, pride that she is a woman

2.
@omar_quraishi so many terrorists, yet no one qualified in shooting ??

4.
@omar_quraishi Says the country which sent 7 athletes and 17 officials!!

5.

7. Not all replies to him were hateful. One tweet asked him why could he not be happy for India?
@omar_quraishi sir, what is your problem? Can’t be happy for your neighbour? Live and let live
— vivek raj (@vivekrajindia) August 18, 2016
It is really surprising that such a tweet comes from the educated class in Pakistan. The tweet would still be understandable if Pakistan would have won more medals than India. Then the tweet’s reason would have been because of superiority complex.
But it is not even that.
It looks like a simple case of an Internet troll trying to grab attention. Nothing else.
